Provide RFC document for MCP protocol

I'm frustrated that I am forced to use MCP's libraries.

I would prefer to view the RFC to understand & implement the MCP protocol by hand, myself.

Additional context

There is no information about what the MCP protocol does under-the-hood. I would like documentation and specifications on what the protocol does under the hood at a granular level. For example, if you view the Oauth2 RFC, everything is written out in fine-grained detail.

Is there something similar for MCP?
