INTRODUCTION
• A digital clock is a type of clock that displays the time digitally.
• The first digital pocket watch was the invention of Austrian engineer Josef
Pallweber who created his "jump-hour" mechanism in 1883.
• In 1970, the first digital wristwatch with an LED display was mass-produced,
Called the Pulsar.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
• The aim of the project is to design a twelve hour Digital Clock that displays the
time digitally, in contrast to an analog clock, where the time is indicated by
the positions of rotating hands.
• With the help of counters and decoders, a digital clock to display time in
hours, minutes and seconds can be constructed.
• Digital clock has a counter that receives a clock signal from any source and
increases the number according to the clock signal.
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE COMPONENTS
• Arduino board
• DS3231 RTC board
• 1602 LCD screen
• 2 x push button
• 10K ohm variable resistor (or potentiometer)
• 330 ohm resistor
• 3V coin cell battery
• Breadboard
• Jumper wires

IMPLEMENTATION-SIMULATION
IMPLEMENTATION-SIMULATION
• Proteus 8 based simulation model has been demonstrated here. This
simulation enables designers and developers in verifying circuit’s functioning
before proceeding towards hardware design.
• Directly developing hardware on PCB or veroboard can be stressful if the end
product fails to run due to misplaced connections. Simulation helps in tracking
mistakes and improving designs, you can always add more creativity to your
design and test it on simulation.
• In the circuit there are 2 push buttons (B1 & B2) connected to pins 8 and 9
respectively, the two push buttons are used to set time date parameters
(minutes, hours, date, month and year). Button B1 selects the parameter and
B2 increments the selected parameter.
RESULT
• At the end of the presentation we will see proteus window with Play, Stop,
Pause buttons. By pressing Play button simulation will start. Remember that
Arduino IDE will not compile code if Simulation is running and it will not show
any error.
• When we tap the play button, the circuit will start working and the seven
segment displays will show the time in relative to the Indian standard time
zone.
APPLICATIONS
• Digital clock are used in different kind of devices such as
cars,radio,televisions,microwave ovens,standard ovens,computers
and cell phones.
• They are often incorporated into all kinds of digital circuit
including devices
CONCLUSION
• Thus, this is how our main system has been built up.
• More and more knowledge involving the whole system has been gained with
time and through more research.
• We have completed this project successfully and have successfully made a 12
hour digital clock with an alarm and a A.M./P.M. display
FUTURE SCOPE
This project will extend its range till the far possible
reach having a negligible delay, a setting buttons and a
second display.
