[RFC] Election test email - second test!

I’m about to start a second test of the election registration and email scripts. This test is in line with the schedule on the proposal, and will hopefully have some bugs addressed from my previous script.

This test is for the email-based voting workflow using CIVS.

It includes links to the same poll as the email last week. If you went through the workflow last week you do not need to do it again.

We are also working evaluating an alternative voting platform that aims to address concerns about the CIVS platform. It also uses OAuth and could potentially simplify the process of administering elections. Since we haven’t yet gotten access to that system to evaluate it, it is not part of this test.

I will post a reply on this thread once the emails have actually been sent, after which you should all go check your inboxes and spam folders to make sure you received it.

If you received an email, no further action is required to vote in the elections.

If you did not receive an email, you must either update your GitHub profile with a public email address, or make a commit to LLVM that does not use a GitHub relay email.

The second email test has been sent. Please check your inboxes and spam filters.

A few stats here to share about this test.
As of this morning there are 3337 people in the LLVM GitHub organization. Of those:

  • 2370 (71%) should have received an email.
  • 192 (5%) have no publicly accessible GitHub email address, and their latest commit to LLVM used a GitHub private email relay.
  • 775 (23%) have no publicly accessible GitHub email address on their profile or through a commit to LLVM.

I’ve been made aware that several people have gotten multiple emails because they have more than one GitHub account in the LLVM organization. If you have more than one GitHub account, please reply to one of the emails letting me know which account you want to vote from, and the account you want me to mark as ineligible.

Thank you!
