nvlddmkm.sys cannot be found on computer…
Hi there @redneckbandit, welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
I suggest a clean re-install of the driver?
Or give a bit more context on what is going wrong.
I also have similar issue.
I got this error when I am finetuning llm models.
I did try reinstall the driver with the official nvidia gpu driver installer select the clean install.
in windows event log
The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event: \Device\UVMLiteProcess1
GPU recovery action changed from 0x0 (None) to 0x2 (Node Reboot Required)
sorry MarkusHoHo
can help me relay this issue to relevant department or developer for any guidance on how to solve?
as the only choice i have now is to reinstall windows and then reinstall nvidia drivers
Hi @redneckbandit, welcome to the NVIDIA developer forums.
Please create a new topic with a proper title, these two are very likely not connected.
Also include more detail on what is going on:
- Your CPU, GPU, Windows version, etc. basically the standard System information
- When exactly does the issue occur
- Describe or share a simple minimal reproduction case or app
- Share debug output of the app that causes the issue.
But before all of that try a clean re-installation of the NVIDIA driver and check if the GPU is installed correctly in your Computer. Also make sure there are no thermal or power issues.
Thanks!
