I completed my 12th grade at Rainbow Public School in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, scoring 96% in 2020. I was a CBSE board student. My exams were completed before COVID-19 hit and the lockdown happened. Let me take you through the journey of my board exams and how I deal with changes in the paper patterns of CBSE board exams.

During my time, the pattern of board exams (CBSE) changed. As in the new pattern, MCQ was introduced. Every subject exam had 20 MCQ-based questions, each carrying 1 mark, and the rest were subjective questions. This new pattern was beneficial for competitive exams as it prepared me to deal with MCQ questions in such exams.

Now the question arises of how I prepared for my board exams. With the guidance of my teachers, I was able to grasp the concepts of all the subjects. My teachers advised me to solve the previous year's question papers to understand the pattern of the subjective questions. Also, it would lead to a better understanding of the topics that are frequently asked in the examination. For MCQ-based questions, I solved various unsolved mock papers. This helped me in preparing myself for the new pattern of the examination. It improved my accuracy in the exam as I was prepared to tackle such questions.

Revisions also played a crucial role in my preparation for my board exam. It improved the clarity of topics and helped me to better understand all the difficult topics. My teacher focuses on core conceptual knowledge in the classroom so that we can answer any kind of question in the examination. Better conceptual understanding helps me solve these MCQ-based questions quickly and easily.

In the end, with hard work, focus, determination, and proper guidance I was able to achieve decent marks in my CBSE board exams despite of paper pattern changes.

Thank you!
