Class getPackage() method in Java with Examples

The getPackage() method of java.lang.Class class is used to get the package of this entity. This entity can be a class, an array, an interface, etc. The method returns the package of this entity.
Syntax: 
 

public Package getPackage()


Parameter: This method does not accept any parameter.
Return Value: This method returns the package of this entity.
Below programs demonstrate the getPackage() method.
Example 1:

public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args)
        throws ClassNotFoundException
    {

        // returns the Class object for this class
        Class myClass = Class.forName("Test");

        System.out.println("Class represented by myClass: "

        // Get the Package of myClass
        // using getPackage() method
        System.out.println("Package of myClass: "
                           + myClass.getPackage());
    }
}

Output: 
Class represented by myClass: class Test
Package of myClass: null
