The setMaximumFractionDigits() method is a built-in method of the java.text.NumberFormat which sets the maximum number of digits allowed in the fraction portion of a number.If the new value for maximumFractionDigits is less than the current value of minimumFractionDigits, then minimumFractionDigits will also be set to the new value. Syntax:
public void setMaximumFractionDigits(int val)
Parameters: The function accepts a mandatory parameter val which specifies the maximum value to be set. Return Value: The function returns nothing, hence has a return type void. Below is the implementation of the above function: Program 1: Java
// Java program to implement
// the above function

import java.text.NumberFormat;
import java.util.Locale;
import java.util.Currency;

public class Main {
    public static void main(String[] args)
        throws Exception
    {

        NumberFormat nF
            = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance();

        System.out.println("Maximum set initially as: "
                           + nF.getMaximumFractionDigits());

        // Set grouping
        nF.setMaximumFractionDigits(100);

        // Print the final
        System.out.println("Maximum set finally as: "
                           + nF.getMaximumFractionDigits());
    }
}
Output:
Maximum set initially as: 3
Maximum set finally as: 100
Program 2: Java
// Java program to implement
// the above function

import java.text.NumberFormat;
import java.util.Locale;
import java.util.Currency;

public class Main {
    public static void main(String[] args)
        throws Exception
    {

        NumberFormat nF
            = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance();

        System.out.println("Maximum set initially as: "
                           + nF.getMaximumFractionDigits());

        // Set grouping
        nF.setMaximumFractionDigits(6785);

        // Print the final
        System.out.println("Maximum set finally as: "
                           + nF.getMaximumFractionDigits());
    }
}
Output:
Maximum set initially as: 3
Maximum set finally as: 6785
