The intersection() is an inbuilt method in Ruby that returns a set which contains the common elements in both the set. In case there are no common elements, it returns an empty set. 

Syntax: s1.name.intersection(s2.name)

Parameters: The function does not takes any parameter.

Return Value: It returns a new set that contains the common elements in both the sets.


Example 1:  

Ruby
# Ruby program to illustrate the intersection method 
 
# requires the set 
require "set"
 
s1 = Set[1, 2, 4]
s2 = Set[1, 2, 3] 
 
# intersection method used
s3 = s1.intersection(s2) 
 
# Prints the s3 
puts s3

Output

Set: {1, 2}


Example 2

Ruby
# Ruby program to illustrate the intersection method 
 
# requires the set 
require "set"
 
s1 = Set[1, 2, 4]
s2 = Set[6, 5, 3] 
 
# method used
s3 = s1.intersection(s2) 
 
# Prints the s3 
puts s3

Output

<Set: {}
