October 28, 2021 by Bijay Kumar
In this Python turtle tutorial, we will learn How to create a turtle
tracer in Python turtle and we will also cover different examples
related to turtle tracer. And, we will cover these topics.

Python turtle tracer
In this section, we will learn about how to create a tracer in Python
turtle.
The Turtle() method is used to make objects. We use the
turtle.tracer() function to draw shapes pictures. Tracer is used to
turn the animation on-off and also set a delay for updating our
drawing objects.
Syntax:
turtel.tracer(n,delay=None)
n is used for regular screen updates. It verifies the object is
really performed.
delay is used for setting the delay values.
Code:
In the following code, we import the turtle module from turtle
import *, import turtle as tur.
tur.tracer(delay=0) is used to turtle animation on-off and set a
delay for an update animation.
from turtle import *
import turtle as tur
tur.width(5)
yd=xd=-64
tur.tracer(delay=0)
for i in range(2):
tur.up()
tur.goto(-197.5,yd)
tur.down()
tur.seth(0)
tur.fd(394)
yd+=128
tur.up()
tur.goto(xd,197.5)
tur.down()
tur.seth(270)
tur.fd(394)
xd+=128
tur.mainloop()
Output:
After running the above code, we get the following output in which
we can see the shape is drawn on the screen.

Python turtle turn On tracer
In this section, we will learn about turtle turn-on tracer in Python
turtle.
The Turtle.tracer() function, as we all know, is used to switch the
animation on and off as well as define a delay for updating the
drawing. Here we use a turn-On tracer for tracer animation turn-on.
Code:
In the following code, we import the turtle module for
tracing.
print(turtle.tracer()) is used for turn on the turtle tracer
animation.
import turtle
print(turtle.tracer())
turtle.done()
Output:
After running the above code, we get the following output in which
we can see the 1 is written on the command prompt which means
tracer animation is turned on.

Python turtle turn Off tracer
In this section, we will learn about how to turn-Off tracer in Python
turtle.
As we know Turtle.tracer() function is used to turn the animation
On-Off and also set a delay for updating the drawing. Here we use
a turn-Off tracer for tracer animation turn-off.
Code:
In the following code, we import the turtle module for
tracing.
print(turtle.tracer(0)) is used for turn off the the turtle tracer
animation.
from turtle import *
import turtle
print(turtle.tracer(0))
turtle.done()
Output:
After running the above code, we get the following output in which
we can see the None is written on the command prompt which
means the tracer animation is turned off.
