This document discusses connecting Python to databases. It outlines 4 steps: 1) importing database modules, 2) establishing a connection, 3) creating a cursor object, and 4) executing SQL queries. It provides code examples for connecting to MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, creating a cursor, and fetching data using methods like fetchall(), fetchmany(), and fetchone(). The document is an introduction to connecting Python applications to various database servers.
SQLite is a C-language library that implements a small, fast, self-contained, high-reliability, full-featured, SQL database engine. It is often used for local/client storage in applications. Key points:
- Created by D. Richard Hipp, it provides a lightweight disk-based database that doesn't require a separate server process and allows accessing the database using SQL queries.
- The entire database is stored in a single cross-platform file and can be as small as 0.5MB, making it suitable for embedded and mobile applications.
- It supports common data types like NULL, INTEGER, REAL, TEXT, and BLOB and is used in standalone apps, local
JavaBeans are reusable software components that can be visually manipulated in builder tools. They follow certain conventions like having a default constructor and getter/setter methods for properties. Beans are platform independent and their methods, properties, and events can be controlled. There are four types of properties beans can expose: simple, indexed, bound, and constrained. Simple properties have a single getter/setter pair while indexed properties support arrays. Bound properties notify listeners of changes while constrained properties can have changes vetoed by listeners.
The document discusses Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) which allows Java applications to connect to databases. It describes the JDBC architecture including drivers, loading drivers, connecting to databases, executing queries and updates using Statement and PreparedStatement objects, processing result sets, and handling exceptions. It also covers transactions, result set metadata, and cleaning up resources.
Dynamic method dispatch allows the determination of which version of an overridden method to execute at runtime based on the object's type. Abstract classes cannot be instantiated and can contain both abstract and concrete methods. Final methods and classes prevent inheritance and overriding.
This document discusses DML and DDL in SQL. DML is used to manipulate data in databases through statements like SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT. It allows users to specify and modify data. DDL is used to define and modify database structures through statements like CREATE, ALTER, DROP, TRUNCATE, and RENAME. DDL manages database schemas and DML manages the data. Both have advantages like shared data, integrity, security and efficiency.

This document provides an overview of threads in Java, including:
- Threads allow for multitasking by executing multiple processes simultaneously. They are lightweight processes that exist within a process and share system resources.
- Threads can be created by extending the Thread class or implementing the Runnable interface. The run() method defines the code executed by the thread.
- Threads transition between states like new, runnable, running, blocked, and dead during their lifecycle. Methods like start(), sleep(), join(), etc. impact the thread states.
- Synchronization is used to control access to shared resources when multiple threads access methods and data outside their run() methods. This prevents issues like inconsistent data.
This document discusses MySQL databases and how to interact with them using PHP. It begins by introducing MySQL as the world's most popular open source database and describes some basic database server concepts. It then provides code examples for how to connect to a MySQL database from PHP, select a database, perform queries to read, insert, update, and delete records, and more. The document is intended as a tutorial for learning the basic functions and syntax for accessing and manipulating data in a MySQL database with PHP.
This document provides an overview of file handling in Python. It discusses different file types like text files, binary files, and CSV files. It explains how to open, read, write, close, and delete files using functions like open(), read(), write(), close(), and os.remove(). It also covers reading and writing specific parts of a file using readline(), readlines(), seek(), and tell(). The document demonstrates how to handle binary files using pickle for serialization and deserialization. Finally, it shows how the os module can be used for file operations and how the csv module facilitates reading and writing CSV files.
The .NET Framework class library provides access to system functionality through classes, interfaces, and value types, forming the foundation for .NET applications. It contains core classes for common data types, events, exceptions, and more. The library also enables database access via ADO.NET, file input/output, and defines generic data structures known as collections in the System.Collections namespace.
This document provides an overview of Java servlets technology, including:
1. What Java servlets are and their main purposes and advantages such as portability, power, and integration with server APIs.
2. Key aspects of servlet architecture like the servlet lifecycle, the HttpServletRequest and HttpServletResponse objects, and how different HTTP methods map to servlet methods.
3. Examples of simple servlets that process parameters, maintain a session counter, and examples of deploying servlets in Eclipse IDE.
This document discusses delegates and events in C#. It explains that a delegate is an object that can refer to a method. There are four steps to using delegates: declaration, defining delegate methods, instantiation, and invocation. Delegates can be singlecast or multicast. Events are declared using an event keyword and a delegate type, and allow an object to notify other objects when an event occurs. Multicast delegates can invoke multiple methods by adding delegate instances together using + operator and removing them using - operator.
The document discusses exception handling in Java. It defines exceptions as abnormal conditions that arise during runtime and disrupt normal program flow. There are three types of exceptions: checked exceptions which must be declared, unchecked exceptions which do not need to be declared, and errors which are rare and cannot be recovered from. The try, catch, and finally blocks are used to handle exceptions, with catch blocks handling specific exception types and finally blocks containing cleanup code.
The document discusses different types of joins in database systems. It defines natural join, inner join, equi join, theta join, semi join, anti join, cross join, outer join including left, right and full outer joins, and self join. Examples are provided for each type of join to illustrate how they work.
Data abstraction is the process of hiding certain details and showing only essential information to the user.
Interfaces and Abstract classes.
Contains abstract keyword also.
Dynamic memory allocation allows programs to request memory from the operating system at runtime. This memory is allocated on the heap. Functions like malloc(), calloc(), and realloc() are used to allocate and reallocate dynamic memory, while free() releases it. Malloc allocates a single block of uninitialized memory. Calloc allocates multiple blocks of initialized (zeroed) memory. Realloc changes the size of previously allocated memory. Proper use of these functions avoids memory leaks.
What is the DOM?
The DOM is a W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standard.
The DOM defines a standard for accessing documents:
"The W3C Document Object Model (DOM) is a platform and language-neutral interface that allows programs and scripts to dynamically access and update the content, structure, and style of a document."
The W3C DOM standard is separated into 3 different parts:
Core DOM - standard model for all document types
XML DOM - standard model for XML documents
HTML DOM - standard model for HTML documents
The HTML DOM (Document Object Model)
When a web page is loaded, the browser creates a Document Object Model of the page.
The HTML DOM model is constructed as a tree of Objects.
With the HTML DOM, JavaScript can access and change all the elements of an HTML document.

1. Inheritance is a mechanism where a new class is derived from an existing class, known as the base or parent class. The derived class inherits properties and methods from the parent class.
2. There are 5 types of inheritance: single, multilevel, multiple, hierarchical, and hybrid. Multiple inheritance allows a class to inherit from more than one parent class.
3. Overriding allows a subclass to replace or extend a method defined in the parent class, while still calling the parent method using the super() function or parent class name. This allows the subclass to provide a specific implementation of a method.

An example PHP script is given that demonstrates connecting to a MySQL server using these functions.
Connecting Python to MySQL allows storing and retrieving data from a MySQL database. The mysql.connector module provides a bridge between Python and MySQL. To connect, import mysql.connector, create a connection object specifying login details, then use cursor objects to execute queries and extract result sets. Queries can be parameterized by embedding placeholders in SQL strings. Data is inserted or updated using execute() and changes committed with commit().
This document provides information about using the MySQL Connector/Python to connect to and interact with MySQL databases from Python code. It discusses installing the MySQL Connector/Python driver, which allows Python programs to connect to MySQL servers and perform common SQL operations. It also presents an overview of different Connector/Python versions and the MySQL and Python versions they support.
The Python DB-API standard supports connecting to and interacting with many database servers like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. To access a database, a Python module like MySQLdb must be installed. Code examples demonstrate how to connect to a MySQL database, create tables, insert/update/delete records, and handle errors according to the DB-API. Transactions ensure data integrity using atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability properties.

In the seventh century, the rule of Sindh state was in the hands of Rai dynasty. We know the names of five kings of this dynasty- Rai Divji, Rai Singhras, Rai Sahasi, Rai Sihras II and Rai Sahasi II. During the time of Rai Sihras II, Nimruz of Persia attacked Sindh and killed him. After the return of the Persians, Rai Sahasi II became the king. After killing him, one of his Brahmin ministers named Chach took over the throne. He married the widow of Rai Sahasi and became the ruler of entire Sindh by suppressing the rebellions of the governors.

5. Establishing connection with MySQL using
python
Before establishing connection to MySQL
database using python, assume:-
That we have created a database with name
mydb.
We have created a table EMPLOYEE with
columns FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME, AGE, SEX
and INCOME.
The credentials we are using to connect with
MySQL are username: root, password:
password.
You can establish a connection using the connect()
constructor.
This accepts username, password, host and, name
of the database you need to connect with
(optional) and, returns an object of the
MySQLConnection class.
6. Example
Following is the example of connecting with MySQL
database "mydb".
import mysql.connector
#establishing the connection
conn = mysql.connector.connect(user='root',
password='password', host='127.0.0.1',
database='mydb')#Creating a cursor object using the cursor()
method
cursor = conn.cursor()#Executing an MYSQL function using the
execute() method
cursor.execute("SELECT DATABASE()")# Fetch a single row
using fetchone() method.
data = cursor.fetchone()print("Connection established to:
",data)#Closing the connection
conn.close()
7. Output
On executing, this script produces the
following output:-
You can also establish connection to MySQL by
passing credentials (user name, password,
hostname, and database name) to
connection.MySQLConnection() as shown below:-
D:Python_MySQL>python EstablishCon.py
Connection established to: ('mydb',)
from mysql.connector import (connection)
#establishing the connection
conn = connection.MySQLConnection(user='root',
password='password', host='127.0.0.1',
database='mydb')
#Closing the connection
conn.close()
