The paper presents a new clustering technique for mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) called the Square Cluster-Based Routing Protocol (SCBRP), aimed at enhancing reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency. The protocol utilizes a strategy based on node replication to elect cluster head nodes based on metrics like remaining energy and mobility, achieving a significant 50% improvement in data delivery ratios and a 20% increase in network lifetime compared to existing protocols. Performance evaluations conducted through simulations reveal that SCBRP outperforms established clustering protocols in terms of packet delivery ratio and energy consumption.
