All school-year code
• From first day of sport to last day of school
Challenges:
• Spring sport only athlete
• Winter or Fall/Spring athlete?
1st
offense:
• Suspension from 50% of WIAA regular season allowance of
games in sport
If # of games is not completed, remaining percentage carries
into the next sport of participation
Notes about Lakeside HS Code
• 1st
week – no contact with team; then must attend all practices,
but no competitions until suspension is served.
• Student must attend a District approved educational
intervention program, or agreed upon alternative, at parent’s
expense.
• Student will undergo random urinalysis testing for a period of
one year at parent’s expense
Notes about Lakeside HS Code
Self-Admittance Discovery vs. Investigative Discovery:
• If a student self-reports or self-admits, the suspensions will be
reduced by ten (10) percent (from 50% to 40%) of the
competitions.
For Reinstatement to Competition:
• The student and parent(s)/guardian(s) shall meet with the Athletic
Eligibility Board, consisting of coaches, counselors and administrators
selected by the principal, to request approval to participate.
• Student must address/talk to the team about his/her actions. The
coach will verify completion of this requirement.
2nd
Offense:
• Student will be ineligible for participation in all identified
activities for a period of one (1) calendar year from the date of
the second violation
Notes about Lakeside HS Code
3rd
Offense
The student will be ineligible for the remainder of his/her high
school career.
Notes about Freeman HS Code
• Rules apply for an entire sport season
A sport’s season is defined as the first practice until
the awards banquet
• If violation occurs during the last 20% of a sport
season, the student will be suspended for 20% of the
contests of the next sport season.
• Student must attend an intervention program before
the student can compete in another sport’s season.
1st
violation:
• Removed from the athletic team or club for duration of two (2)
weeks and will be required to attend an intervention program
for alcohol/drug abuse.
Notes about Freeman HS Code

be allowed to participate in any contest during the probationary
period.
