This document discusses using a differential game approach for analyzing load frequency control in a two-area power system. It first provides background on load frequency control and describes the traditional proportional-integral controller approach. It then introduces differential games as a tool for solving multi-objective optimization problems and proposes applying a cooperative differential game to control the two areas. The game would derive non-cooperative and cooperative equilibrium solutions to maintain system frequency stability and balance generation and loads across areas. Simulation results would compare this approach to traditional control methods.
