The document presents a dynamic re-clustering leach-based protocol (dr-leach) aimed at energy efficiency and extending the lifetime of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) by optimizing cluster sizes and balancing the workload among cluster heads. The proposed protocol improves upon traditional methods by ensuring that each cluster head serves an approximately equal number of sensor nodes, thus enhancing energy consumption and overall network performance. Experimental results indicate that dr-leach outperforms existing protocols in terms of network lifetime and energy savings.
