This document presents an efficient hierarchical routing protocol designed for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) that addresses energy consumption challenges through a novel algorithm for cluster head election. It discusses various routing strategies, including flat-based, hierarchical-based, and location-based routing, emphasizing the benefits of clustering for data aggregation and energy efficiency. The proposed protocol enhances network lifespan while maintaining effective data transmission via event-driven mechanisms, as compared to traditional methods like the LEACH protocol.
