- 2. Enterprise Introduction In this slide, we’ll discuss on how to clean your contacts using the Deduplication Menu in Odoo 18. Maintaining a clean and organized contact database is essential for effective business operations. Odoo 18 simplifies this process with its robust Deduplication Menu, allowing users to identify and merge duplicate contacts effortlessly.
- 3. Enterprise To manage with duplicate values we can navigate to the Data Cleaning module and go to Deduplication in Configuration menu.
- 4. Enterprise The list shows the deduplication rules existing in the system and we can create new rule by clicking on New button.
- 5. Enterprise In the form view, we can choose the model in which we need to clean the duplicate values and enable cross company so that deduplication across two or more companies can be seen. Also we can define the deduplication rules by clicking on Add a line. Here we have given the deduplication rule for unique Id for the name field in contact module.
- 6. Enterprise Next we can go to Contacts module and create a new contact.
- 7. Enterprise With the same name we can create another contact and if we search for that name in the list view we can see both the records.
- 8. Enterprise Going back to Deduplication rule, we can click on the Deduplicate button to see the duplicates on the contact module with same name.
- 9. Enterprise We can see the two duplicate records in the contact module. Also we can merge the duplicate record by clicking on the Merge button.
- 10. Enterprise In the confirmation box, we can click Ok to merge the duplicate records.
- 11. Enterprise We can see the notification saying the two records have been merged.
- 12. Enterprise If we go back to the contacts module, we can see that only one records with name Brandon exists.
