The document presents a new routing protocol called SNAODV (Secure Node AODV) designed to enhance node security in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) by preventing malicious attacks during packet transmission. It addresses the weaknesses of existing protocols, particularly in terms of key management and the verification of intermediate nodes, proposing a point-to-point message authentication mechanism without relying on a centralized infrastructure. Simulation results indicate that SNAODV improves throughput compared to traditional AODV and SAODV protocols.
