Image
In real world application, image is an important source of information.

Image is an artifact that depicts visual perception.
A photograph or two-dimensional picture, that resembles a physical
object and provides a depiction of it.
In case of digital image, the fundamental building block of an image
is pixel.
This pixel is also made of digital data or bit stream, 1 0 1 1 0 1....

In the context of signal processing, an image is a distributed
amplitude of color(s).
In case of black and white image, an a image is a distributed
amplitude of black and white.

Digital vs Analog
Analog
Analog images pixel value must be continuous.
The amplitude of analog image is infinite.
It is quite impossible to store all the pixels of analog image.
Resolution of image is of poor quality.
Digital
Digital images pixel value must be discrete.
The amplitude of digital image is finite.
It is quite possible to store all the pixels of digital image.
Resolution of image is of very high.

Challenges of Image Processing
Segmentation process is to simplify or change the representation of an
image into meaningful stuff.
It is typically used to locate objects and boundaries.
Noise filtering
