This document provides instructions for installing MySQL on Windows in 3 steps: 1) Check that .NET Framework and Visual C++ are installed as prerequisites, 2) Download and install prerequisites if missing, 3) Download and run the MySQL installer which will guide the user through installing MySQL and setting up a user and password. The instructions include links to download prerequisites and MySQL along with screenshots of the installation process.

- 1. MySQL Installation Guide (Windows) MYSQL Installation Walkthrough 1) Checking the pre-requirements a) .net framework b) Visual C++ 2) Installing the pre-requirements a) Visual C++ b) .net framework 3) Downloading MySQL 4) Installing MySQL Note: In case you face any issues during the installation process, try to clear the cache and the downloaded file, restart the system and resume the process.
- 2. Checking the pre-requirements Open the control panel -> Installed programs to check whether the pre-requirements are installed. We can see that the neither of the .net framework or Visual C++ (2015 or above) are installed.
- 3. Installing the pre-requirements 1) Visual C++ Open this link. Scroll down to
- 4. Click on the link. Your download will start. After the setup is complete, you’ll receive the following prompt.
- 5. You’ll be required to restart the system to use the Visual C++.
- 6. 2) .net framework Click on the link. You will land on Click on the download .NET Framework icon.
- 7. Run the downloaded file. Finish the installation process.
- 8. Downloading MySQL Click on the link. You’ll land on Click on the Downloads tab.
- 9. Scroll down to Click on the Community(GPL) Downloads. You’ll land on
- 10. Scroll down to Click on MySQL on Windows (Installer & Tools) You’ll land on
- 11. Click on MySQL Installer Scroll down to
- 12. Click on download the 273.4 MB file. You’ll be redirected to Scroll down to
- 13. Click on No thanks, just start my download. You will see the .msi file being downloaded.
- 14. Installing MySQL Once the download is complete, Run the .msi file
- 15. You’ll see the following window.
- 16. After agreeing with the license agreement Choose the Developer default and click next.
- 17. Click on next. The installer will install the above-mentioned programs. Once all the products are installed,

- 22. Click on next Enter the password and check the connection. Click on next

- 24. Click on next Click on finish MySQL Workbench would be launched.
