Storage tiering is traditionally done in a number of ways :
• Not done at all
•All data is stored on performance disk
•Dual tier
•Active (hot and warm) data is stored on performance disks (38%)
•Archive data is stored on capacity disks (62)
• Four tier
• Hot data is tored on flash storage (2%)
• Warm data is stored on performance disks (6%)
• Cold data is stored on capacity disks (32%)
• archive data is stored on tape (60%)
