The paper discusses the performance assessment of polyphase sequences using a cyclic algorithm to minimize the integrated sidelobe level (ISL), improving their merit factor for applications in radar, sonar, and communication systems. It highlights various classes of polyphase sequences (p1, p2, px, frank) and demonstrates how the cyclic algorithm enhances their autocorrelation properties. Results indicate that the ca(px) sequence yields the best merit factor among the analyzed sequences.
