Wide Open Spaces Using My Sql As A Web Mapping Service Backend

Don Beesing presented on using MySQL as a backend for a web mapping service. He discussed using MySQL to store geospatial data and MapServer to serve that data via web services standards. He showed how geospatial data from different government organizations could be shared this way. While MySQL had some limitations for GIS, the presentation demonstrated a proof of concept for using it in this role to take advantage of its existing use in their lab environment. He concluded by thanking those involved and inviting questions.
