Although my motivation for using these techniques isn't just to "be different". There's a reduction in cognitive load that's key to understanding and learning, and this affects mostly those who are very new to a topic.
Indeed. And rare oddballs like me can always sift through to find the meat and potatoes while ignoring the salad, side dishes, and dessert whereas, exactly as you say, others might find just meat'n'taters hard to digest. Far better to serve a full meal.
