Definition and Usage

The gmp_random_range() function returns random number between the min and max numbers given.

Description

The gmp_random_range() function returns random GMP number based on the range i.e min and max GMP numbers.Both numbers can be negative, but the min GMP number has to be always less than the max number.

Syntax

gmp_random_range ( GMP $min , GMP $max ) : GMP

Parameters

Return Values

PHP gmp_random_range() function returns random number that is a GMP rnumber.

PHP Version

This function will work from PHP Version greater than 5.6.3.

Example 1

Working of gmp_random_range() −

   $rnum = gmp_random_range(0, 40);	
   echo "The random number generated is : ".$rnum;
?>

This will produce following result −

The random number generated is : 29

Example 2

Working of gmp_random_range() −

   $rnum = gmp_random_range(-50, -10);	
   echo "The random number generated is : ".$rnum;
?>

This will produce following result −
